Q. Where do I
park?
A.
In the summer
since lessons are done in a residential area parents are asked to park at
Central
Elgin High
School and walk across the field to Joy’s home.
In the Fall, Winter & Spring lessons are conducted at an
indoor pool. Details on parking will be provided.
Q.
Can I watch the
classes?
A.
Seating is
provided in all settings and viewing the classes is encouraged.
Q.
How do I pay?
A.
All payments
must be cash only in an envelope with the child’s first and last name and class
day & time. Payment is due on the first day. An Insurance Waiver is required
to be signed on the first day of lessons.
Q.
What do I bring
for my child?
A.
Other than a
bathing suit and towel and possibly goggles (for a child with sensitive eyes)
all other equipment is provided.

Can I take more
than one session in the summer?
A.
The answer is
yes. Some parents opt for one session and some parents take lessons every
session available.
Q.
Can I encourage
my child?
A.
Anytime you wish
to give your child positive reinforcement we encourage it as long as it does not
interfere with the class.
Q.
What about
sunscreen in the summer?
A.
If you do not
allow 20 – 30 minutes of drying time before your child enters the pool the
sunscreen applied will be ineffective. It is best to apply it at home.
Q.
How young can my
child start?
A.
Infant classes
for 4 months and older are available in the Fall, Winter & Spring. In the
summer due to limited space and time children must be 3 years of age and older.
Q.
Is this a
registered program?
A.
Yes, we are
fully registered with the Canadian Red Cross Society. We are also Insured.
Q.
Are awards
available?
A.
Children 6 &
older are enrolled in the Swim Kids Program. Badges from 1 – 10 are available
for a fee of $2.00. Children 3-5 are enrolled in the Pre-School Program.
Stickers are available for the seven levels at 50 cents each. |
